2 Content Mistakes That Jeopardize Your SEO?
Here’s a story about a client in a highly competitive industry.
They came to us wanting to get their new website content written. Of course, one of their goals was for the website to be SEO-friendly.
When they sent us the pages and keywords that they wanted to include, I immediately spotted two glaring issues.
First of all, some of the keywords were generic and short-tail. This means that there is ZERO chance the content would rank.
Unless you’re already a powerful company, there’s no way to rank high with keywords like that, especially in a competitive industry.
If you have a new domain, Google won’t prioritise you over well-established companies with higher domain authority.
Right off the bat, you’d be setting yourself up for failure.
The other issue was filling up his website with keywords that didn’t have any buyer’s intent.
Content on a website that doesn’t speak to your market’s intent, is almost worthless.
In my mind, it’s nothing more than a placeholder!
Sure, it might sound sexy to attract a ton of people to your site. But if they don’t complete your main call to action, all that traffic amounts to little.
