A simple tip to make your articles more powerful

I am often asked about how I make my articles so powerful.

Luckily, I have a simple tip that can give yours more impact too.

I show instead of tell.

What I mean by that is that I elevate my content using some sort of demonstration.

For example, in the process, I will sometimes use photos that show other points I’m trying to make in my content.

Before and after pictures are a powerful tool. Infographics are also great for showing instead of telling.

These ideas help elevate the content quality in a big way.

Another example, albeit more dramatic is that of Elisha Otis, from Otis Elevator Company. He wanted to implement an emergency brake in his elevators.

So, to demonstrate their value, he showed instead of told.

He rode the elevator at Crystal Palace (Bryant Park) and then ordered the rop to be cut. He then activated the brake, showing how it could save lives.

By showing instead of telling, he created much more impact.

Do you want to know the best part?

Powerful articles don’t necessarily need more words.

Sounds awesome, right?
