Gary V: Play the Long Game
This is the third installment in a series of lessons about Gary V’s message.
In email #1 we talked about branding.
In email #2 we talked about the volume of content.
And today? Well, I’ll get to that in a sec. But first…
As you may know, I’m a direct response marketing guy. Fortunately, I have the skillset and the know-how to get results quickly from content and ad campaigns.
And in the dark of night, if I was brutally honest with myself, it came at the expense of building a brand.
Because when you’re able to get quick results, it’s hard to muster up the desire to create long lasting results lol.
Know what I mean?
And looking back at it… it was a mistake. But it’s a mistake that I have well and truly rectified.
Since kicking off Fubbi I’ve been able to marry off the capability to get quick results… with the maturity of delivering long lasting outcomes, too.
And that brings me to the 3rd point I want to make about Gary V’s message.
Think long term. Play the long game.
It can take years to build a powerful brand. But it’s all worth it.
Look no further than what Gary has been able to do!
In a recent service he launched, he hadn’t built out the offer.
He hadn’t confirmed the pricing.
But he did know he’d sell this service for between $30,000 to $100,000.
With only the barest of websites, Gary announced the new service and was flooded with 5,000 applications!
There was no huge prelaunch.
No big sales pitch.
And like I said, hardly a website.
He just announced it on social.
There’s the power of branding, my friend.
