Getting attention in the ADD age
How do you get people’s attention in a world where we people bounce off your page within seconds?
Good question!
So let me tell you about a company that reached out to us recently… and the advice I gave them.
This company has “mini celebrity” status in their niche. Lots of success stories… solid community and strong reputation.
But then when I hopped onto their website, NONE of that was reflected on their web pages.
For example, you didn’t know the Founder of the company has spoken to stadiums full of people.
You wouldn’t know her Facebook group has nearly 100,000 fans.
And you wouldn’t know that she’s a bestselling author.
So I gave her the advice I am giving you now…
Get Your Best Proof Front and Centre.
And make it obvious.
That means do NOT bury media mention or client testimonials at the bottom of your pages (especially on your home page).
Rather, create a masthead of your best proof. Also get your best proof above the fold.
It doesn’t end there.
I also gave this company another nugget of wisdom as a result of their many testimonials.
Because of the proliferation of mobile devices, you need content that is bite sized. When it comes to testimonials, ensure each testimonial has a headline that summarises the key results.
This way people can scroll on their mobile devices and get dragged into the stories from the headlines.
