How Important is Content for SEO?
A while back, I had dinner with a close friend. He runs his own successful business and he wanted to know more about SEO.
He’s new to the whole thing, and we all know how complex it can get.
To break it down for him, I gave him the overhead view of how Google actually works. I told him that many people try to simplify Google by matching keywords and search terms.
But that’s wrong.
You need to dig deeper into Google’s philosophy. Fact is, Google wants one thing:
To read your mind.
This means when you type something in the search bar, Google wants the first hits to mirror your intention behind the search.
The key word here is ‘intention’.
Not just the search terms but the reasoning behind your search.
And this is what your content needs to be about – it needs to address the intent behind people’s search.
