You, a Thought Leader?
To create outstanding content and draw people in, you need to create epiphanies. This is the second part of our Content Hacking scorecard, right after finding your one target audience.
What you should do here is score yourself on a scale of 1-12. You’ll fall under one of four categories.
The first is for those content creators who slap their content together without thinking about it. They’re just winging it and don’t have any idea if it will work. If this is you, give yourself a score of between 1 and 3 points.
The second category goes from 4 to 6 points. The way you reach it is by putting more thought into your content. You do your homework and start researching the market. Your content gets more specific, but it still doesn’t get the level of traction that you want.
Next, the third level…
You use tools such as BuzzSumo or SEMRush to get your ideas. If so, then you can give yourself 7-9 points.
This is because you’re getting deeper into your market’s mind. Which means your content is more precise. You might even be using the Skyscraper method where you observe what others are doing and create a chunk of content out of that.
But your content isn’t exactly ground-breaking yet.
This leads us to the final category. This is where you score is between 10 and 12 points.
It’s where you do a ton of research and know exactly what people want. You then fill your content with paradigm shifting, one of a kind content.
That, my friend, is how you unleash the full power of content marketing. That’s how you become a thought leader.
